Ramblings of a Mad Man: Jerry

Way out in the desert lived a small rodent. All day long he sat there in the heat, hallucinating. Flying orbs and vivid blue sky-wagons ascending the heavens. Did he really see what he thought he saw? Who knows. He certainly believed it to be there at the time, but then, he is just a stupid rodent, right? Thing is, he’d never, ever left the desert and so knew no different. That means that in his world, it might as well have all been real – no-one else was there to prove him wrong – even if they were, how could anyone tell which of them was hallucinating? Maybe they both were.

WOAH THERE JERRY, YOUR BLOWING MY MIND HERE RIGHT NOW, AND I JUST DON’T KNOW IF I CAN TAKE IT ANYMORE. I’M A DECENT, GOD-FEARING MAN. I AM A DECENT GOD-FEARING MAN. I AM A DECENT, GOD-FEARING MAN!! I DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD (woops, I didn’t mean that, Jerry) – help me please!

The descent into mental illness is one of the more interesting journeys you will make, but it is a treacherous one nonetheless. Never before have I met such intriguing people than the ones residing inside (my) brain, however, never has there been more ill-will and dastardliness than on some of the rockier roads – ALWAYS take a map, they say. But it’s not that easy is it jerry? Sometimes a map just don’t cut it – intuition – that’s the key. That is (the) key.
